Dave has been leading, consulting, and coaching in businesses since 1995, after a career in the military. He brings a unique and varied perspective to his consulting, facilitating, and coaching. This perspective is influenced by his expertise in developing leaders and bringing about change in organizations of all sizes. His proficiency extends to identifying and eliminating the impediments to effective execution. His academic background includes marketing, communications, business, analysis and his practical background is as a leader in the military as well as in cutting edge and Fortune 100 companies.

Dave learned and honed much of his leadership skills in the U. S. Army. He spent four years on active duty in the U.S. and the Far East and has spent over five years in the Army Reserves. The majority of his time in the Army has been in leadership positions, including an M1 tank Platoon Leader in Korea, an M1 tank company Executive Officer, and as a tank battalion Personnel Officer.

He received a BA in Communication from the University of Colorado and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with an emphasis in Marketing from the University of Connecticut. He is a certified Marketing Intelligence Specialist from the ING Center for Financial Services.

He has 500+ hours of hands-on coaching that has helped people to improve interpersonal skills to build more productive work relationships, improve leadership skills, and improve operational performance.
Advised senior leadership on ways to improve soft skills of their staff and conducted leadership development workshops. Participants of the workshops had fewer conflicts with co-workers and were more effective with customers and business partners.Leadership Coach advising dozens of people, from individual contributors to senior business executives, on how to overcome obstacles, develop leadership skills, become more effective leaders, and achieve greater results.
Led the evaluation and improvement of operational procedures in a major business unit of a Fortune 80 company. This effort included coaching and training managers and senior executives how to measure and evaluate operational effectiveness. This project increased business unit revenue by approximately million.
Recurrent contributing author on topics of leadership and operational excellence, and referral leadership coach for the online leadership magazine Linked2LeadershipAdjunct faculty instructor for classes on Service Operations Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and on Process Improvement and Control and Change Management at Connecticut Quality Council and Berkshire Community College.
A Six Sigma Black Belt, he has worked on several Six Sigma / Lean projects in the financial services industry. He is proficient in the Six Sigma / Lean principles and has facilitated classes on them at the Green Belt, Black Belt, and Executive Champion level. He is also a graduate of several U.S. military specialty and leadership schools including the Department of Defense Information School for Journalism and Public Affairs. He is certified to teach the Social Style and Versatility model from the Tracom Group. He is also a certified Six Sigma Black Belt from Breakthrough Management Group and Hartford Financial Services Group. Dave is a member in good standing of the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) and the International Coach Federation (ICF).
